L.L. Bean Summer Tour reminds fair and festival crowds: ‘Life is better outdoors’

AUGUST 25, 2015 — Throughout the U.S., at festivals and concerts, L.L.Bean has been delighting long-time fans of the brand — and creating new ones — with its inaugural Summer Tour.

Featuring the brand’s iconic Bootmobile, L.L.Bean Base Camp is home to a range of fun activities and displays of the company’s latest clothing, boots, and gear, including the Traverse and Signature clothing lines. The program was designed to remind consumers about all of the ways L.L.Bean products can help them enjoy camping, biking, kayaking, and everything there is to love about the outdoors.

The Summer Tour is planned and managed by Newbridge LIVE!, the experiential marketing division of Newbridge Marketing Group. It is a new complement to the L.L.Bean’s popular Wintervention college tour, which in October begins its third year in partnership with Newbridge Marketing Group.

At each stop of the Summer Tour, visitors can try on L.L. Bean apparel and boots, check out L.L. Bean gear including kayaks and paddleboards, and enter to win L.L.Bean prize packages. Other activities include a “boot toss” game and posing for photos in front of the 13-foot tall Bootmobile. Additionally, brand ambassadors are handing out coupons for 20 percent off a purchase at an L.L.Bean retail store or via the brand’s website or toll-free phone line. Fans are also encouraged to post on Twitter and Instagram with hashtag #LifeIsBetterOutdoors for a chance to win a $500 L.L.Bean gift card.

The tour gives L.L.Bean an important opportunity to showcase its guiding principles — a 100 percent lifetime guarantee, free shipping, and commitments to the environment and the community — as well as to tout its newest offerings from its Outdoor Discovery Schools. To date, the tour has generated approximately 1.2 million consumer impressions for L.L.Bean.

Fans can connect with L.L.Bean at the tour’s two remaining stops, the Minnesota State Fair, August 27-30, and A Taste of Colorado, September 4-7. It has already visited events in six other states.
